Getting this Web site off the drawing board (D-day minus 2)

The following entry was written up yesterday Jan 16th 2013, but as I didn’t get the site up on the Server ’till today I’m only posting it now.

After a month of intermittent work on this web site, I believe that I can now see light at the end of the tunnel (Hopefully it’s not the proverbial on-coming train!).

My approach since mid-December (2012) has been haphazard, to say the least, but over the past few days I’ve been more focused and have purchased the required web-hosting and put in the development time on the website. At the time of writing this post the site still resides on my own PC, far from the public gaze. However, I now believe that I’m in a position to move my first efforts to the host server and “go public”. That’s assuming that I’ve done the required bit of configuration on the server correctly. I’ve had one support call with the host provider, Blacknight, and I have to say that the response time and the help provided was refreshingly good – I raise a support ticket with them this afternoon and had the required solution within 30 mins.

I’ll update this blog with the history of my future efforts to go public and hopefully it’ll get published when I’ve successfully loaded the site to the server.
